Instructor Profile

2025 Instructor lineup
Boogie and Lex aka BooglepLex

Lex and Boogie have both separately practiced circus arts for nearly a decade. They met at an acro and juggle jam in 2019 and started merging their diverse experiences into a unique flavor of flow. Since then they’ve been collaborating primarily on acro and juggling, and have taught together at many festivals, and casually at jams.

Dr. Boogie began dancing in her socks on hardwood floors as a preteen. As an adult she danced Swing and Samba for 8 years, until she found the circus arts community, where her goofy flare was fully empowered. She’s squeaked ever since. Since 2014 she’s enriched her skills in juggling, stilt walking, partner acro, aerial dance and of course clowning. She loves teaching multiple different subjects (including Algebra), and has taught at over 20 festivals.

Lex is a multitudinous mover motivated by musicality and flow. They love to foster joy through movement play. Lex is at their happiest when performing or playing with others and focuses their practice toward interactivity. Their movement practice includes pole, acro yoga, contemporary dance, trapeze, lyra, inversions, juggling, dragon staff, tight rope and rolla bolla. Pittsburgh PA, is their home where they also like to grow, build, or ferment things.

Clown Technique (Improv)
We will begin with a brief overview of my personal clown philosophy. Then we’ll play games designed to help you reach deep inside and release your inner clown truth. Once we’ve unlocked our radiant clown energies, we will experiment with creating skits, and brainstorm how they might grow into an act. If time permits, we can take a deeper dive into clown philosophy and a bit of history.
