Kayla began training aerial arts about eight years ago while completing her Master of Public Health degree from the University of Kentucky. Her quest to better understand the body led her to circus arts and its ability to transform the body and mind. She has primarily trained and performed in Lexington, KY, and traveled across the US to learn from a variety of top circus professionals.
Kayla studied with a teaching ambassador from the New England Center for Circus Arts (NECCA) to become a qualified aerial instructor in the disciplines of aerial silks (fabric), trapeze, and lyra (hoop). While she specializes in silks and lyra, she also trains multiple other apparatuses including aerial hammock, corde lisse, and flying trapeze. She most recently completed a PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) course earning her freediving and mermaid certificates! If she is not in the air or the water, then you can find Kayla on her goat farm nestled in the foothills of South Central Kentucky.
