Phil Murray is a lifelong computer programmer who unexpectedly discovered a passion for movement and the physical arts seven years ago after taking a spontaneous aerial class at Turner’s Circus. That experience opened the door to a new world where play, skill, and connection meet — and led him to discover the flow arts community through events like PlayThink. Since then, Phil has immersed himself in a variety of circus disciplines including partner acrobatics, slacklining, juggling, and unicycling.
Among all these art forms, flowersticks captured his heart. Phil loves their blend of challenge, rhythm, and spontaneity — the way they demand focus while inviting creativity. His approach emphasizes exploration and adaptability, showing how a simple set of sticks can be used in endlessly inventive ways. Though this is his first official flowerstick workshop, Phil brings years of self-driven practice, curiosity, and playful teaching energy, eager to share the joy and flow that flowersticks have brought into his life.
